Polyurethane foam packaging

Easy to use and specially created to protect any type of product from shocks, expanded polystyrene packaging is one of the most common types of packaging. Millions of tons of polystyrene are produced annually. It is an excellent thermal insulator and provides sufficient protection, so it is a good choice for both protection during transport and storage.

One of the three branches of Bricovers’ activity is polyurethane products.

Polyurethane systems fall into the following categories:

EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE PACKAGING (EPS)

What is and what are the advantages of expanded polystyrene

Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS) is a thermoplastic material, a rigid but very light foam, composed of 2% polystyrene and 98% air. It is the air that provides insulation, while the role of polystyrene is to maintain its stability.

CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES

  • Low thermal conductivity
  • High compression
  • High resistance
  • Shock absorption capacity
  • It does not emit toxins in the combustion process
  • It does not retain water

Where to use

Due to its properties and the possibility to be made according to customer requirements, expanded polystyrene packaging is ideal to use in:

protection during transport and storage of electronic and household appliances

Bricovers makes expanded polystyrene packaging through 2 different methods:

By direct casting in mold or matrix

By cutting and shaping

EXPANDED POLYETHYLENE (EPE) PACKAGING

What is and what are the advantages of expanded polyethylene

Expanded polyethylene is a product based on low density polyethylene. Its properties give it a role of protection against impact and vibration. It allows a stable packaging and is indicated for the protection of devices, machines, tools and heavy goods transport. Due to the minimal electrostatic charge, expanded polyethylene foam is mainly used for electronic components.

Suitable for:

  • electronic products
  • medical technique
  • machines and tools
  • tools and accessories
  • transport of heavy materials

PROPERTIES AND ADVANTAGES

  • It is light and very durable
  • It is waterproof
  • Shock and vibration absorption capacity
  • It is not toxic
  • Easy to recycle, odorless and tasteless material
  • Usable immediately

POLYURETHANE (PU) FOAM PACKAGING

What is and what are the advantages of polyurethane foam

Polyurethane foam is a synthetic material with several uses, one of the most common being the protection of products during transport, even in the case of fragile products.

CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES

  • Provides excellent insulation
  • Reduces shipping costs due to low weight
  • It does not absorb water
  • It is resistant to fungi, mold and rodents
  • It has an increased fire resistance, in some cases being even fireproof

USES

  • internal separators for polyurethane foam boxes
  • toolbox trays and tools
  • cutouts for fixing objects during transport
  • boxes
